At least 12 settlements have been reached by families of victims who died and one victim who was injured in a plane crash in upstate New York in February 2009, according to a plaintiff’s lawyer.
The plaintiffs who have settled include 11 families whose loved ones died when a Colgan Air plane crashed as it was approaching the Buffalo airport and one woman who sustained injury on the ground.
An investigation into the cause of the accident revealed the pilots of the Continental Connections Flight 3407 had been sleep deprived.
The crash killed 49 passengers, crew and grounds crew.
Nearly 30 lawsuits are still pending in U.S. District Court in connection with the crash.
